Little one.

This piece was done for a friend's little daughters birthday... I was told she loved the color pink, ballet, her dog, princesses and that her room was pink and blue.  I was also told I had permission to make this 16x20 as girly girl girly as possible, which made me pretty happy.  How much fun is that?  Of course I had to paint a princess dog who lives in a shiny blue castle!  I added touches of metallic paint, along with high gloss medium to make it as dazzling as a little girl could handle.  I hope she loves looking at it as much as I loved painting it :)  Can't wait to hear!

So shiny,

Robots for everyone.

People really seemed to respond to my Day 16 painting of robots sharing a balloon.  In fact, I've had so many friends inquire about me making more robot paintings that I'm thinking of doing a series!  Maybe work with smaller canvas to accommodate all sorts of robots doing whatnot.  My friend Melanie was one of the first people knocking on the door the night of "Thirty One" and she had her heart set on Day 16.  The problem was that about 6 other people did too.  We ended up having to do a lottery for it and unfortunately her name was not the one pulled out of the bag- she was such a sport about it, she helped me run the show all night long and *still* left with a smile on her face even though she was empty handed.  As a gesture of friendship and thanks, I painted this 24x36 portrait of her "robot family", paying careful attention to the details in the kids and focusing on the love between her & her husband.  Her daughter loves the colors pink and yellow, her son loves green and purple, which you can see they are painted with.  She is in lavender with a blue heart, the color of her husbands hue and he has a lavender heart to match his wife's shade.  I love this painting, it makes me smile.  She literally wanted to steal it away before the paint was dry (haha!), so I know she and her family will give it a loving home.  These are my favorite pieces to paint.

With love,

I'm back!

Hello friends- I'm back after a short break from posting regularly, although I'm definitely still keeping busy with painting and LOVING it.  Each day brings new ideas and inspirations...  Thank you all again for your support throughout, it's been such an amazing process.  I proudly brought in my donation check to the Concord Family Stress Center the week following my show (that you all showed up for!!) and left with an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and happiness.  A week later I received a letter thanking me for my contribution and wishing me happy holidays- hand signed even, by the director of STAND!  It made me feel so good that I want to do it every year if I am able, without a doubt.

So, onwards we go, like I've said, I've been painting like a crazy person and there will be a ton of upcoming posts.  I've decided that selling my art for a living is my next ambition, although figuring out how to do so is going to be a challenge.  I will take photos of everything I work on to share with you all, I even have a few special projects I've completed already.  Such fun!

More to come soon,
B

Thank you.

Last night's party, Thirty One, was an enormous success!!  People were arriving *before* the doors opened and by 7 o'clock the walls were empty.  That is correct, the paintings sold out!!  Not only that, I had to bring out 7 extra paintings as backup.  How amazing!  I was so overwhelmed by the turnout, my heart feels full of sunshine just thinking about it.  Thank you all who were able to attend and thank you all who felt the need to contribute from afar.  What a truly wonderful way to begin the New Year.

Blessings,

Today.

Today is the day friends!  The show is set up and ready to go, all you have to do is show up :)  I'm very excited and nervous all at the same time but I know it will be a fun night no matter what.  Even if you just come down for libations and laughter- there will plenty of awesome people to chat with.

Looking forward to it,
B

Two days away.

So I'm going to spend the next couple days getting ready for the show- finishing edging up the paintings, getting the title cards ready, figuring out something intelligent to write to represent myself (that's the hard one).  I've been worried this week that maybe I overshot a little with all these darns paintings... The more I look at them, the more I wonder if this is gonna be a success or not.  Argh!  The self-doubt creeps in.  I'm sure the evening will end up being a total blast- I'm excited to see so many different friends all together in one place at the same time.

A dear friend recommended that I explain how this will all work...

There are quite a few paintings that I know several different people have their eyes on.  I've let people know that the sale of the pieces will be on a first come, first serve basis at the show on Thursday.  If you are not able to make the show, here's how things will pan out:  I'd like to give people that show up in person to the party the chance to buy the pieces first.  Once the night is over I will post a list of paintings that did not sell and are still available.  At that point I will be totally open to coordinating the sale of the pieces through other forms of communication-  if there is still a piece you would like, please contact me!  I will figure out a way to get it to you for sure, I would love to sell every single darn canvas so I can start fresh and begin new ones.

I hope this sounds all good and fair, I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday evening!!

Cheers,
B
