Feathered friend.

I completed this painting as a gift to a girlfriend who's dear mother passed away last year around this time.  My friend has previously requested a painting using shades of green and orange (her favorite colors) but left the subject matter up to me.  I decided to a half matte, half aqua metallic background to begin with.  As the background was drying, I took a thick paintbrush and used the handle end to carve a sketch out of the owl.  My friend adores owls.  This created a more layered look, exposing the light canvas through the green paint.  After the background was dry, I used about 15 different shades of orange to fill in the owl's silhouette, leaving a beautiful contrasting green outline peeking through.  I used heart shapes as the base for the chunky little guy and finished him off with glossy yellow eyes.  Next to him sits a few abstract poppies- her mother's favorite.  It's quite a simple piece, aesthetically, but I love the end result and so did she. <3

Be well,

Painter for hire.

Hello friends! I've decided to start doing commissions full time.  Since I am just beginning this prospect, I've set a few guidelines if you are interested in purchasing a one of a kind acrylic on canvas for yourself or a loved one.

Here are my introductory rates:

12x12- $30
16x20- $50
18x24- $100
24x26- $200

Other sizes available on request, price negotiable.

I am capable of having these current sizes completed on a very timely basis.  I can completely customize the painting to your liking or I can paint something using requested colors/themes in my own style.  I am also considering larger scale work like murals, home interiors etc.  Contact me if you are interested.

Have a lovely day,
B

Flowers for a friend.

I did this latest piece as gift to a new friend... She loves the color pink, has lived in Hawaii (so I included Hibiscus), I painted an Orchid as my favorite flower and just for fun I made sure to include a ton of girly elements- metallic paint, glossy paint, pink, glittery medium etc.  The result ended up being pretty popular amongst my other friends, much to my surprise.  In the end I actually really love this painting, for whatever reason I finished it and thought "Wow!".  That's always a good thing.

Enjoy,
B
